Jodhpur to Jaisalmer (285 km, 5 hours)
The landscape turns increasingly arid. Jaisalmer's golden sandstone fort appears like a mirage in the desert. Don't miss the Sam Sand Dunes — a sunset camel ride with folk music and dance under the stars.
Jaisalmer to Udaipur (560 km, 9 hours via Jodhpur)
The longest leg. Most groups break this with an overnight stop at Jodhpur or drive straight through. Udaipur, the City of Lakes, is worth the journey — Lake Pichola boat rides, City Palace, and rooftop dinners with palace views.
Udaipur to Delhi (660 km, 10-11 hours)
The return home. A long drive, but NH48 from Udaipur is good. Many groups stop at Ajmer/Pushkar or Chittorgarh on the way back for a break.
